Aged man Henry Richwine dies after blood poisoning

Henry Richwine 80s resident of a rural area died at his home three miles west of the city after contracting blood poisoning from a scratched hand caused by a harness buckle. A respected citizen, he was in town last Wednesday. Funeral services were held Thursday morning and burial followed at Sunset Hill.

Soldier Boy Dies in World War I Service at 31

Harwood Craig Sibert of Rockport Louisville died Friday January 24 1919 in Louisville Kentucky at age 31 years 9 months He was born April 24 1887 and survived by his mother Mrs Hannah Sibert and two sisters Mrs Edna Crooks and Mrs Guy Walker his father the late Thomas Sibert predeceased him The funeral was held January 27 at Trinity M E church Rockport with Masonic pallbearers and interment at Shiloh cemetery The community paid tribute noting his service in World War I and his roles in public life including president of the library board He was a Rockport High School class of 1906 graduate and a trusted local figure.

Motor vehicle strikes woman crossing Main Street

Mrs Rebecca Leminson was hit by an automobile while crossing Main Street on Monday evening. Her foot was run over and she fell, suffering bruises and a large scare but no bones were broken.

Lucky Accident in buggy collision near Oak Grove

Lonny Parsley and Miss Hester Thomas escaped injury when a buggy collided with the Haines auto near Oak Grove. Lights failed and a lantern only illuminated the scene, leaving no warning before the smash. The horse lost its harness but was unharmed and Parsley plans to attend the next farmers' institute.

Auditorium Needed For Large Township Farmers Institute

The Ohio township farmers institute drew a crowd too large for the current auditorium with standing room filled. Farmers urged building a new 800 to 1,000 capacity assembly room in the court house. Lonny Parsley was praised for his floor management and elected to oversee next institute along with W. W. Guy as chairman and others in officer roles.

Miss Bessie Griggs of this city died Monday in Bedford Indiana at the home of Harry Griggs. The remains were brought to this city for funeral services held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church.
