Ohio Township Farmers Institute Awards Of Prizes
The Ohio Township Farmers Institute held a two day session at the auditorium. Attendance grew from about two hundred on Monday to higher numbers on Tuesday. Local partners win prizes at Purdue
Spencer county farmers dominated the Purdue state corn show in Lafayette winning sixty of sixty four premiums in section five. Myler Shrode led the county with a state trophy from the American Hominy Co. Posey county youth Fred Thomas claimed the state boys corn title with 112 bushels, aided by a county agent and ten close to the hundred bushel mark. John J. Brown was elected vice president of section five and Myler Shrode chaired the Junior corn growers of Spencer county.

A letter from Lenny Parsley notes his post at the first door of the senate chamber and reports the senate employment committee is retrenching by turning away many applicants. Parsley recalls President Wilson speaking at Tomlinson hall while only about half the crowd could enter. Louis Wahl of Dale traveled to Indianapolis seeking a house doorkeeper post and became an assistant clerk.

The Spencer county anti tuberculosis society will hold its annual meeting at the Prinity Lutheran church next Thursday January 28. Some of the big officials from the district and State are expected to attend. The election of officers and the proposed work of the association will be determined. AGCD Citizen John Hawk Dies in Seminary Street Home
John Hawk a prominent local resident died of pneumonia at his Seminary street home after a winter in Indianapolis. Funeral rites were held at the Presbyterian church under the J C O F lodge with Rev. Hartman and Rev. Warble officiating. burial at Sunset Hill. Hawk, born in Prussia, came to Kentucky in 1850 and settled in Spencer County in 1872. He served in Co D Fourth Kentucky Cavalry during the Civil War and was married three times. survived by two sons John and George and his third wife. Half brother A J Glackman also survives.
