Katharine Evans Blake born Rockport August 31 1858 died in Indianapolis Tuesday after 24 hours illness from acute indigestion. She married William McK Blake in 1876 and had four children, only Donald surviving. A writer with two books Hearts Haven and The Stuff of a Man, she lived in Evansville and was first president of its Woman's club. Cremated remains were brought to this city for a private Friday service conducted by Rev. Guy V. Hartman.

Daniel A. Miller Dies Pioneer Spencer County Resident
Daniel A. Miller died at his Pattonville area home early Tuesday and was buried Wednesday at Alexander cemetery. Born Sept 10 1858 to Robert and Enfield Miller, he married Rebecca Stuteville in 1887 and had a daughter Effie who survives with her mother. He suffered a stroke last July and had been declining until his death Jan 16 1928 at age 64. The obituary notes him as a pioneer Spencer County resident and mentions Legion Auxiliary events in Owensboro.
