Library site fight in Spencer court delays building
The Spencer circuit court heard a suit by twenty three plaintiffs to block the library board from changing the site or awarding bids for a new building and to stop the sale of the corner lot at Sixth and Main. A temporary order barred library board actions and the architect from proceeding, with further hearing set for Jan 29.

War Conference on Patriotic Education in Rockport
Spencer County Council of Defense urges war workers and friends to attend a free War Conference in Rockport at 1 30 p.m. Tuesday February 5 at the courthouse. E. E. Wesseler Dies in St Louis Pneumonia
E. E. Wesseler died last Tuesday in a St Louis hospital from pneumonia after months of ill health. His body was brought home by Mrs. Wesseler and two daughters, Carrie and Trillis, for burial at Sunset Hill. The funeral at the Presbyterian church was held Thursday at 1:30 PM under the Masonic lodge, with survivors including a son-in-law Jesse D. Taylor and another daughter living in Cuba.
