Eye Injury From Thanksgiving Hunting Incident
Olin Scamahorn, son of Chloe Scamahorn, was shot in the face during a Thanksgiving hunting accident. A companion fired at a rabbit and hit Olin in the eye, with shots entering the eye and lodging behind it. Dr. H. G. Weiss hopes the eye may be saved, though its usefulness is likely diminished. A nearby colored boy was hit in the shoulder but escaped serious harm due to his overcoat.

Mrs. Sarah M. Friedel died Monday night at her son John B. Friedel’s Elm Street home. She was past 78. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2:30 PM at the M. E. church, led by Rev. M. QO. Robbins and Rev. J. M. Daniel. Survived by three sons John B. Friedel of this city Frank H. Friedel of Philadelphia and Wm. C. Friedel of Ft. Scott Kansas and one daughter Minnie R. Whitehead of Rome Indiana.
