Sears Roebuck Indicted for Mail Fraud and False Pretenses
The Sears Roebuck & Co is indicted in the U S court for fraud by use of the mails and obtaining money under false pretenses. The three counts allege selling paint claimed to be made in their factory with white lead not present and exposing rings guaranteed to contain precious stones that were missing. Merchants Trade Journal of Des Moines Iowa helped provide evidence backing the prosecution of the mail order house.

Southern Railway Starts French Lick West Baden Service
Starting December 1 1907 the Southern Railway launches the French Lick West Baden Extension with a mixed train from Huntingburg to Jasper and back. A regular passenger schedule will begin January 5 offering two or three daily round trips between Huntingburg and West Baden connecting with main line trains.
