Evansville Railways officials and directors toured the electric lines by special car to assess the potential Rockport to Mt. Vernon service. The one hour two minute run from Evansville to Rockport and planned two hour trip aim to speed schedules this summer. D. E. Cadick joined the group to discuss Grandview extension prospects. Real estate transfers and financial actions totaled thirty-six mortgages, nineteen releases, four assignments, one certificate, one court order and one affidavit recorded last week.

Benjamin K Sallee of South Rockport died at home Tuesday after a brief bed confinement. Born February 6, 1824 in Ohio County Kentucky, he lived in Burnett area until 1842 then White County Illinois before settling locally. Survived by eight children from first marriage to Elizabeth Hamilton. five living. Widower Mattie Brady survives. Funeral Thursday at Oak Grove with burial in the cemetery.

State health board bulletin reports monthly inspections
The Indiana state board of health monthly bulletin details the work of the state food and health commission for October through February. In Rockport, creamery, meat market, two drug stores, four bakeries and confectioneries, eight groceries, hotels and restaurants, and a vinegar factory were inspected with most items in good or fair condition. In Grandview seven inspections showed all inspected groceries, meat markets, drug stores, bakeries, and confectioneries in good condition. Two slaughterhouses in Troy were condemned. other places were deemed in good condition.
