Bluff City Rebekah lodge held a Monday night meeting with a social hour and program in honor of Mrs. Kate I Nichols of Elkhart Indiana president of the Rebekah Assembly. Mrs Nichols has been visiting Mrs George Barnett two weeks detained by the flood. The program included readings by Dr J R Lang instrumental duets by Gold and Peckinpaugh a Julia Mason recitation a vocal solo by Emma Fiegel an instrumental solo by Peckinpaugh and an address by Mrs Nichols concluding with cream and cake.

Wilmer A. Wire sues Barton E K Day for 3000 dollars claiming injuries from a coal mine roof collapse at the Day mine in Warrick county on August 10 1912. It is not generally known that Rockport has two button plants. Wm Hudson and his son Barney operate a four machine button cutting shop near the Southern depot with four workers. They source shells from the river for raw material and report strong business.

Few Changes Are Made in Road Law Rural Routes Highlight
Legislature enacted two general road laws governing township and county highways. Difficult traveling for Rockport couple due to flood crippled rail
Mr and Mrs John Howk returned to Rockport after a prolonged journey from Indianapolis hindered by flood damaged train service. They endured delays from Terre Haute to Gosport via French Lick and Lincoln City before reaching Rockport at five o clock Sunday. The same issue delayed their plans at multiple points.
