James B Hurst died suddenly at his home in Troy last Friday March 31. He was born in Huff township and served as a soldier in the 13th Indiana cavalry. Funeral services were held at his residence Sunday at 2 PM conducted by Rev J M Daniels. He is survived by his wife and five children. burial followed in Troy cemetery.

Centennial celebration at Lake Mill school planned
A genuine Centennial celebration will be held at Lake Mill school under the Parent-Teacher association on Friday afternoon April 14. The program features Mrs J M Huffman spinning, Mrs Gee Dawson spinning, a round table discussion on by gone days, earliest rural recollections, farming then and now, pioneer church and school life, home life in grandmother's day, and recipes. The Lake Mill orchestra and quartet will provide music and descendants will read sketches of pioneers.
