The Bethlehem Stone Church Sunday school held a Christmas program Tuesday night with decorated interiors and a tree loaded with gifts. Music and readings featured, led by Rev. J. L. Lassiter and J. C. Bradford, followed by community celebrations and local visits across New Market and nearby towns.
In Strasburg Virginia on December 29 a pantry fire at a local home was quickly contained by Robert Riddleberger who used a garden hoe to extinguish the flames after a sack of beans toppled. NW Market Va December 27 Dr W G Shirley a member of the Stonewall Band flies to Staunton this afternoon to join the parade in which the band will play a prominent part. W C Phillips and daughter Mrs Oneda of Winchester are guests of his daughter Mrs Ceanl Grabill. Silter Good a Roanoke lawyer visits relatives here. Mr and Mrs Gottwals of Strasburg spend Christmas with the latter's parents south of town. John J Airkle of U S police force at Panama Canal arrives for several weeks with relatives. Thethermometers range from 77 to 85 degrees. He is sun tanned and healthy. Wilmouth Wickes returns to Richmond to resume duties.

Montezuma and surrounding area share holiday greetings and health updates. Mrs Swartz remains ill though showing slight improvement while Mrs Clarke gains some strength. Mrs Skelton reports indigestion. Profs Willis Thomas Roller visit relatives for Christmas as townspeople exchange seasonal news.
A historical letter from Dr. W A Gordon of Wor sale endorses Dr Gordon’s Emulsion for lingering coughs and lasting diseases with claims of stomach-friendly digestion and appetite boost. The letter lists multiple druggists in Dayton Bridgewater Harrisonburg Elkton New Market Timberville and Broadway selling the emulsion.
Vera ter of Dayton and Mrs Dan Carl iose with three sons from Bridgewater joined Mr and Mrs Henry Lambert and their son Virgil along with Misses Esteh and Mattie Hilbert and Willie Hilbert as guests of J M Hilbert on Christmas day. Mattie Hilbert also visited Mrs Homer Thomas yesterday.
