Rock Valley women plan a bake sale Friday October 7 from 1:00 to 8:00 pm at the town hall to raise funds for the Hegg Memorial hospital fund. Unsold food will be auctioned that evening. Proceeds go to the hospital fund and details are available through Mrs John Harms and Mrs Martin Vander Velde. Jay Grevengoed of Rock Valley recently graduated from Universal Trade School in Omaha Nebraska.

Goose and Sipe Season Opens Saturday in Des Moines Area
The State Conservation Commission announced goose and snipe seasons start Saturday October 1. Goose season runs 70 days to December 8 1966 with daily limits of one goose and the bag composed of blue or snow geese. Snipe season ends November 19 with hunting hours from one hour before sunrise to sunset.
