Independence Notes Two Notable Centenarian Women
W Miller of Independence cites two remarkable women near a century old. Mrs. Daniels, born in Massachusetts in 1834, moved to Bucher county in 1857 with her husband. The other is Mrs. Elsie Foti, wife of a longtime Congregational minister active in the church. Both women remain alert and engaged in community affairs. A separate item reports Paul Scholte of Pella searching golf greens for a lost diamond, enlisting 15 to 20 schoolchildren who aided at the beach. Anna May Hoeksema found the diamond, earning $30, and each hunter received a dollar.
