Federal Highway No 18 routed through Sheldon area
The State Highway Commission fixed the path for Federal Highway No 18 at the fair grounds corner. The route will run west through Sheldon on Park Street along the park boundary, curve around vacant land and near the Dykstra property, then rejoin the existing highway a short distance west of the Dykstra property. The plan shifts the road 29 feet south of the Dykstra house, removing a sharp 100 foot bend and creating a long wide curve near the air station.
