The week of November 10 to 16 is American Education Week with activities led by Mr Vanden Berg and Miss Lammers and featuring high school selections for a local declamatory contest entry list of twenty two pupils. Friday night Rock Valley hosts Newkirk in the first basketball game of the zon with a 7:30 pm start and admission 36 25 and 15 cents.
The government cannot locate the mothers or widows of two soldiers from Iowa who died in World War I. The Anan Legion suggests those missing have rights to burial in France. The Iowa Legionaire lists Privates Samuel H. Bridge and many others, with Sergeants Herman Bett and Otto Miller and Corporal Guy Moe among those named.
Central Auto Company of Rock Valley Iowa offers a selection of used cars in good condition. Includes a 193 Ford model T coach a 1925 Ford model T coupe a 1924 Chevrolet coupe and a 1829 Wyillis Knight coach with demonstrator status. Cars priced as bargains.
A wind driven three propeller tower with a top mounted storage battery system provides light and power at about sixty cents a year in fuel. The generator stores electricity in batteries for low wind periods and claims reliable operation without wind.
