Tiisse W. Ruisch died at his son Willem’s home north of Rock Valley on Monday Get. 99 after about four weeks illness. Born August 16, 1924 in Friesland Netherlands he was 85 years 2 months and 14 days old. He lived near Allon for years, was a Reformed Church member and well regarded. Ten children were born to his marriage, seven survived. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. at the Lutheran church in Alverd, conducted by Rev J. DeJough, with many friends from Rock Valley in attendance.

Not Far Away Three Lree Agents Arrested in LeMars
Three Lree agents were arrested in LeMars on peddling without a license charges after farmers from central Plymouth County reported goods delivered from afar. About fifty farmers met, rejected the goods as misrepresented, and resolved to withhold payment while seeking arrest of the agents. Bonds were set at $230. Deputy State Game Warden John Kuhl warned near by towns of strict enforcement of hunting license rules with fines from 25 to 50 dollars for unlicensed hunting.

In regular session November 3 1909 the Rock Valley town council adopted Resolution No 26 authorizing a cement sidewalk not less than five feet wide along the front of Lot 2 in the N W G of the S E I Section 20 Township 97 Range 40 fronting Third Street. Property owners to be served. if not built within 30 days the street commissioner or others appointed will construct and assess costs to the lot owner, to be collected by Sioux County treasurer with county taxes. Adopted November 8 1909.
