Ida Kessler Dies In Mordo After Long Illness
Mrs Ida A Hodge Kessler died at her son Wayne's home in Mordo on May 5 following diabetes complications. Born in Joraula she married Noble C Kessler in 1893 and had three children Wayne Harvard and a daughter who died in infancy. The family lived in Rock Rapids and Rock Valley before settling in Rock Valley in 1920. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with burial at StouK Rapids beside her husband. Survivors include her two sons, a brother, four sisters and eight grandchildren.

Fire Destroys Carter Farm Barn and Equipment
A blaze on a Carter farm east of Rogk Valley burned the barn and destroyed two corn separators and a threshing machine. Livestock were moved after the fire began in the afternoon while workers were in the fields. Fire crews arrived quickly and prevented spread to nearby buildings.
