Break-in At Valley Lanes Nets About 225
A break-in at Valley Lanes owned by Lyle De Zeeuw occurred after midnight Sunday. Entry through a broken back door yielded coins from six pinball machines, about 30 dollars from the cash register, the safe with papers, about 70 dollars in quarters, and a calculator. The total loss is estimated 200 to 225 dollars. The safe, weighing 500 to 700 pounds, was found in a field north of Lawrence Van t Hul’s farmstead after he reported it at 9 20 Sunday morning. Police linked tracks near the rear door to a mud tire pickup and notified the Sioux County sheriff and deputies.

Milwaukee motorists complained last week about a sinking railroad crossing on Main Street. City Clerk Bill Van Maanen said he contacted Milwaukee Road offices in Austin Minnesota and road crews in Canton and Hull, and a work order for repairs has been issued with planks ordered. He expects the work to be completed soon.
