Large Volume of Gornstalks Are Being Gartheret
L We Plager resigned as coop agent for Grundy county to supervise the shipping of corn stalks to the Maizewood factory at Dubuque. He says an average of twenty carloads of stalks a day have been arriving for weeks, with movement continuing this month. Stalks are gathered from about a dozen counties in Iowa, including many areas where stalk gathering was new. Painters and local crews were recruited to handle the gain and equipment had to be provided. The goal is to stockpile enough stalks to last until the next corn crop is grown.

Flower Rock Valley Couple Wed in Clarinda Ceremony
Miss Helen Hart of Clarinda married John B. Sinning of this city at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon. Attendants were Miss Catherine Lyman of Clarinda and Qinar Sorenson of Iowa City. A tea luncheon followed. Helen Hart, a 1929 Coe College graduate, taught home economics in Nodaway public schools last year. Sinning, a Rock Valley graduate, attends the State University of Iowa and will graduate in June. They plan to live in Iowa City and then move to Tacoma Washington where he will intern at Tacova General Hospital.
