The Sioux county home project achievement day will be held May 4 in Orange City. Handi craft results will be displayed as feature exhibits by all township groups. Exhibits will be judged by Mrs. N. W. Larson, assistant I. D. A. leader of Iowa State Extension. An afternoon program will depict home project and Farm Bureau work, per Mrs. Henry Reinders.

L. C. Groves an extension horticulturist from Town State College led a garden training school for 4-H leaders and Sioux County girls at the Farm Bureau office on March 24. The session supports second year home efficiency courses with a focus on gardening as an outdoor hobby and potential farm family income.

Garden training hints from Groves for 4-H girls
Mr Groves advised away from hoe culture and toward long rows and plow cultivation. He recommended half to one acre gardens, deep fall plowing, and 12 to 20 tons of fertilizer per acre before planting. Grand Champion Steer Exhibition Tour
