National FHA Week from 19 through 28 spotlights youth profiles and service. Rock Valley FHA members, led by Spanish Fork High senior Manna Bowen, engage in community projects, family outreach, and leadership activities while planning events such as Daddy Daughter Night and a field trip to Brookings College.
After school practices engage 238 girls under coach Mr Lee McCarty as they prepare for a busy slate of events. The squad lists seniors Des Mouw and teammates, with meets scheduled at Rock Rapids, Hartley, and Rock Valley, culminating in Northwest Iowa and state qualifiers.
Swing Show on March 10 featured master of ceremonies Dwight Hansen and the Swing Chor performing Those Were the Days. Acts included solos skits a fife and jug band with washing board and two flues. Writers note reflects on art and mortality while praising the show’s direction by Lindbloom and Vander Velde.
Vi Van Beek attended four years at RVHS actively participating in GAA softball track volleyball. She played volleyball in her junior and senior years and placed fifth in district in her senior year, highlighting a strong multi sport high school career.
Vi a junior photographer and senior yearbook editor, active as librarian in freshman year. She takes English sociology Home Ec physics and PE this year and plans to attend Sioux Valley Hospital after graduation. Kevin Dykirra, in rock valley for four years, wrestled freshman year and joined FFA from the start. He has been in Boy’s Glee and Chorus since junior year and plans to work as a mechanic after graduation.
Vi, a four year FHA participant, acted as Milanic in Rubberneck this year and competed in speech earning first in an Interpretive Prose at district level. She served on the Newsletter Staff in junior and senior years and remains on the Annual Staff this year.
In the District Court of Iowa Sioux County Probate No 94 the estate of Stell 1 Schtecty deceased. The administrator was appointed March 8 1972 and qualified. Creditors are requested to present claims in duplicate to the Clerk within six months from publication. This notice is a legal requirement and creditors must act to preserve their rights.
