Death of William Mulvey in Rock Valley
William Mulvey died at his Rock Valley home after a months long illness. He lived nineteen years in Rock Valley and earlier ran a meat market and served as city assessor. Born New York state, aged sixty eight years five months and twenty four days. Survived by wife Martha Carney and seven children, with funeral held at his home by Rev. Bosick. Card of thanks from the family expresses gratitude for support during illness and death.

Republicans of Sioux County meet in Orange City on Monday at 11 00 AM to nominate a candidate for state representative to fill the vacancy caused by the death of D O Stone of Hawarden. Delegates are those elected at the last primary on June 7 1920.

Marshall Smith Dead Near Canby Minnesota
Warren A. Smith received word Thursday morning of the death of his brother Marshall Smith who lived near Canby Minnesota. Marshall suffered a stroke Wednesday and died Thursday morning. He was well known in Rock Valley and area, having lived on a farm near Inwood for years before moving to Canby. He was about 48 years old. Mr Warren Smith leaves for Canby Thursday evening to attend the funeral.

Obituary notes the death of N A Fink formerly of Rock Valley after a brief illness in Riverside California. Fink served in the Civil War and was a respected member of the GAR Post.
Rock Valley Council Meets March 3 1921
Rock Valley town council held a regular session in the town hall on Wednesday March 3 1921 with Mayor KE A Suter and councilors C W Jacobs Kt Klay James Walpole HL Roorda and Thos Hellstein present. Bills for express fuel and services were approved and treasurer and weighmaster reports were read and approved. The petition of G Van der Meulen and others was granted and W H Gerretsen’s complaint was tabled until next meeting.

A North Carolina tobacco growing area visit shows money spent wildly during inflation. A farmer bought an organ and his wife a piano while neither could play. Most residents, white and colored, owned automobiles. The spending boom strained capital, raised interest rates, halted production, and pushed prices higher as people bought to cope.
