Rockefeller calls for repeal of prohibition plan
OHN D Rockefeller Jr. urges repeal of the eighteenth amendment in a letter supporting Nicholas Murray Butler's anti prohibition plank. He argues prohibition has failed, crime risen, and saloons replaced by speak easies, calling for state control of liquor and continued temperance work. Rockefeller aided by a new united repeal council aims to place repeal planks in party platforms.
