War birds and famed carrier pigeons in World War I exhibit
The Smithsonian in Washington adds a unique specimen to its war collection a stuffed pigeon named President Wilson. The bird carried an urgent message from Grand Pre to Rampont during the 1918 offensive, and its tale joins other celebrated war birds including Spike Mocker Old Abe and a famous Civil War game cock.
