Commercial Club Plans Fourth Celebration Efforts

Decoration Day Observed With Ceremony And Flowers
Decoration Day was observed at the school grounds with G A R members teachers and students joining a procession to the cemetery by auto and team. Rev C H Young spoke at the unknown soldiers monument and patriotic songs were sung as the graves were strewn with flowers. The program concluded with the cemetery service.

Congressman Hubbard Dies in Sioux City After Victory
Congress member E H Hubbard of Iowa's Eleventh district died at 5 15 a m Tuesday at the home of his friend John C Kelly in Sioux City from a failure brought on by a digestion. He had just weeks earlier left Washington to campaign for renomination. Hubbard collapsed while visiting Mr Kelly and received medical care through the night with his wife en route from Washington. Born August 19 1849 in Rushville Indiana he practiced law in Sioux City and served in both houses of the Iowa legislature before eight years in Congress.

St Mary's School Closes Year With Opera House Exercises
Closing exercises at St Marys school were held Wednesday evening in the opera house. A full house attended as seats sold the day before. The program featured a Roman drama in five scenes with music, recitations and orations. Miss Clara Richter delivered the epalatatory and Miss Mary Reilly gave the valedictory. Four graduates were Edward Ben Mary Reilly Florence Crown Clara Richter. diplomas were conferred on the teachers and students received Palm method awards and other honors.
