Gayle Gorter Crowned Miss Doon Saturday
Over 200 people packed the Doon school building for the Miss Doon and Little Miss Doon pageants. Gayle Gorter, daughter of Mr and Mrs Herman Gorter, was crowned Miss Doon while 8 year old Lisa Niemeyer received Little Miss Doon. Runners up included Nyla De Groot and Laura Klein, with Little Miss Doon runners up Tanya Vander Woude and Penny Surma. The event featured a 3 hour program plus Larchwood Centennial promo and a Doon play film, with MIC Rath Anderson and assistants Carrie Schroeder Lois Vanden Berg Hester Niemeyer.

Blue Cross Shortfalls at Hegg Memorial Hospital Spark Local Outcry
