Rock Valley Lights Up as City Installs Electric Plant
On July first Rock Valley unveiled its new electric lighting system after installing a modern plant built by S. Thayer and son Starr. The facility includes a 1392 by 55 ft concrete block building, a 64 HP Mietz & Weiss engine, a Westinghouse generator, 23 transformers, and three circuit switch gear powering main, side, and residence lights. The system lights 14 businesses and 56 homes with plans to expand and offer home appliances.
