Two More Barns Burned Near Rock Valley

A barn on John Pring’s farm nine miles southeast of Rock Valley burned early Sunday, destroying tools, some hay, and two pet rabbits. Firefighters from N. G. Greiner and Sons arrived as the fire spread, saving other buildings. cause is undetermined.

Grange City Boy Dies in Sand Pit Tragedy

George Hospers, nine, of Grange City, died after sand and clay collapsed on him while he and two companions dug a cave near West Lake.
