Former resident dies suddenly in Minnesota
A former Rock Valley area resident Mrs Buffington died unexpectedly Saturday of heart failure while returning from an event in Holland Minnesota. Survived by her husband and eleven children, she and the Buffington family had lived in the Rock Valley vicinity for years before moving to Minnesota about twenty years ago. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Pipestone Minnesota on Tuesday afternoon.

Near-fatal crash saves man from burning car
J J Kopecky of Clavier Tama county Iowa narrowly escaped death when his car rolled into a ditch near Cedar Rapids. After a side collision another vehicle fled.
