Vienna discovers an eighty year lost oratorio Stabat Mater by Cornelius in an old desk drawer slated for auction. The work, hailed as one of the composer’s finest church pieces, will be performed at Salzburg Cathedral.
A St. Bernard owned by Mrs Morris Gross was brought to a hospital for people in Omaha after injuring its left front leg. A surgeon, aided by regular nurses, performed the amputation and plans to fit the dog with an artificial leg, according to the owner.

Subdued, Brown and Burke lingered in death row, with January hangings slated for Brown on the 3rd and Burke on the 10th.
