Sad Death of Simon Kedma After Diphtheria Illness
Simon Kedma left home for Quill to study at a business college and died Monday from black diphtheria. His remains arrived by noon train in a sealed coffin. A funeral service was held at the Christian Reformed church at 3 o clock, conducted by Rev. Heynen. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Simon Kooiman, respected residents, with many friends expressing sympathy in his untimely loss.

A Delmont South Dakota obituary column notes the death of Charles Starr of Tripp after a street collapse of heart failure. Born November 14 1640 in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania he left Mount Carmel for Waterloo Iowa then Rock Valley and Dakota settling near Tripp. Funeral was led by Rev J Wayland Allen.

County board of supervisors met as board of canvassers to open voting precinct roll books for the November 8 1906 oral election. The meeting adjourned due to incomplete canvass and was set for November 15 1868 at 9 am with Wm Dealy as chairman and John Boeyink as clerk.
