District leaders announce energy saving steps during the weekend period with school temperatures lowered. The superintendent cites reduced heat in nonessential areas and gym settings to 60 degrees while trying to avoid disrupting daily schedules and activities.
Christmas drawings are underway with the first winner named Mrs Gilbert Van Holland. Shoppes need not be present at the drawing time, as prizes are given away daily to the drawn person.
Ver Meer said two hogs canned goods gi certificates from clothing stores and donated merchandise from school stores are still sought before the sale. Local businessmen will be contacted and anyone wishing to donate an item for the auction should call Hope Haven or deliver to the sale barn. Proceeds fund equipment for a new child development center opened at the school.
