Lutheran youth from local churches plan to attend a convention at Warburg College in Waverly August 18 to 20. The program features a theme on new challenges, with counselors Mr and Mrs Kenneth Anderson and other leaders listed. Also noted, Kenneth Bablmann received a State Life Saving Award at Governors Days in Clear Lake for saving Rodney Brase from the Frederika city park dam incident on May 26.
Audrey Var Berkum daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Van Berkum Rock Valley has completed a 2100 hour cosmetology course at Stewart School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls She earned a Rock Valley High School diploma in 1965 and is eligible for State Board exams in September in Pierre She accepted a tester position at Mayfair Gift and Beauty Salon in Sioux Falls and will start in August under a temporary Board permit.
