Duck Traced 1500 Miles From Iowa To Canadian Lake
A wild duck captured in Oakville Iowa wore a ring bearing Governor Clyde Herring’s name. After release to track its travel the ring returned to Iowa. The duck was killed by a hunter in lakes north of Prince Albert Saskatchewan Canada after flying about 1500 miles from release. This yearly pattern shows the long migration of a duck in its life.

Four boys from Morningside, a Sioux City suburb, captured a nearly three foot alligator while hiking a nearby creek. Quick Thinking Saves Delbert Dick From Electric Hazard
John Leonard Christiansen's presence of mind saved Delbert Dick, son of Mr and Mrs Delbert Dick of Giltmore City Tara, when Delbert touched a high voltage fence wire after a broken coach spout hung from the roof. Christiansen threw a rock to knock the spout away, breaking the current and reviving Delbert with artificial respiration before recovery.
