April i April i Farmer Ted Rauschau of Rock Valley warns a rollback would be disastrous as hogs and cattle purchased at higher prices cannot be replaced. Bauman advocates farmer education to explain the agricultural role and notes farmers hold back sales. Rock Valley grocers report the meat boycott has little effect on prices or supply. some report tight wholesale quotes and brief sales stress.
Rock Valley Housing aims to raise 7000 with 235 memberships as bids open for a five unit complex cost estimated at 60 000. The site at 19th Avenue and Highway 18 will be cleared and burned off this week. Construction starts within six weeks after bids due April 16 with a fifty year FHA mortgage.

A group of nine Sioux County farmers and businessmen left for Washington D C to discuss meat prices with congressional aides and AFL CIO contact Tom Goldfinger. Led by Glenn Gregg they aim to meet the meat boycott leader and funders from Sioux County plan to cover expenses. They expect to return Friday.
