Training horses and cattle to pull loads and back carts
In a 1847 Jefferson Wis letter the writer surveys methods for teaching steers to draw loads and back carts. It discusses proper dosing from Robbens and cautions against excessive whipping, stressing patient, stepwise training and preserving animal posture, with anecdotes from Mr. Jonathan Rice and others.
