Threaded paper to prevent bank note alteration gains interest

Dalton Massachusetts manufacturers Cwane Co introduce a simple method to preserve denomination by embedding parallel threads in bank note paper. One dollar notes have one thread, rising with denomination to six for twenty, then more for fifty, and higher. Banks order the threaded paper, likely to see general use. A drunken man’s case closes with a joke about licenses.
