Guthrie Oklahoma September 24 It was announced here yesterday that William R Hearst would not deliver Independence Party addresses in Oklahoma next week He was slated to speak at Guthrie Oklahoma City McAlester and Muskogee
Abraham Raymer, alleged leader in the recent Springfield riots, was acquitted of murder after a three sours deliberation with one ballot. He faced charges including rioting and malicious destruction of property and awaits trial on those counts. Charleston W V Sept 24 In a statement the Lincoln Republican state committee withdrew its state ticket from the gubernatorial contest citing fear the Taft electoral ticket would be endangered by two Republican tickets in the field. The committee also declines to endorse William E Glasscock as the regular gubernatorial candidate alleging his selection was at Senator Elkins dictation.
London dispatch reports the United States monetary commission plans to recommend a central bank system for the U S. Senator Aldrich heads the panel, which found the British and continental experiences influential though no final stance disclosed. Members noted the American system inadequate and pressed for greater elasticity under government control.
Peoria Illinois September 24 Buckeye Powder company once led by R S Waddell fighting the powder trust has sold its Edwards Station plant for 75000 dollars and other considerations to F W Olin and Almon Lent. The deal secures an isolated site for life and sporting powder for Western Cartridge Company owners say Waddell remains involved in salaried roles.
In Washington and Rochester reports, Samuel Gompers testifies he and labor leaders were tailed by detectives hired by James W. Van Cleave. He says an emissary named Bradenburg offered bribes to desert labor, and accepts responsibility for AFL editorial content amid Bucks Store case proceedings. The New York Workingmen's Federation endorses Gompers action on injunctions and party support.
Oklahoma delegates from Shawnee Chamber of Commerce will visit Rock Island in a two week midwest tour begun September 20. They depart Chicago on a Rock Island special at 11:30 PM Tuesday September 29, arriving at 7:00 AM Wednesday forenoon. They will then go to Davenport before continuing to Quincy via Burlington at 2:30 PM. Local bodies are expected to greet the visitors during their Rock Island stay.
East St. Louis reports a plan to create a public register of habitual drunkards. Relatives would send names to the city clerk to allow orders limiting liquor sales. Chicago officers elected include Ernest Kunde as president and Michael J. McCarthy as secretary. A $50 donation was made to local hospitals.
William La Follette cleared by Clinton County grand jury after shooting and killing Henry Fields in Brown's house weeks earlier. Fields, described as a Missouri man, was killed. La Follette had been jailed briefly and is now free with no bill returned.

Two killed and 36 injured when an east bound Frisco passenger train derailed on Spring River a mile north of Carthage Missouri. The engine left the track on a sharp curve and plunged 50 feet into the river. Engineer and fireman drowned. Most injuries are cuts and bruises.
