A coal dust explosion caused a large fire injuring three. The Sash and Door works, Rock Island Lumber & Manufacturing, and nearby rails and telegraph lines suffered extensive damage across about ten acres. Insurance covers most losses. Sash and Door will resume next week and likely rebuild, except the sawmill. lumber sheds to be rebuilt as well.
