Springfield May 24 The funeral of former Governor Tanner will be held Sunday with military honors. The body will lie in state in the state house lower rotunda from 5 to 2 Sunday. Governor Tanner died early this morning in his hotel room, reportedly from rheumatic heart disease after a recent illness. State officials, including Governor Yates and Secretary Rose, prepared to meet to arrange the funeral, with arrangements to be made at the governor’s office tomorrow.
