King Victor Emmanuel Targeted by Anarchist in Rome
An anarchist fired at King Victor Emmanuel as he and Queen walked to the Pantheon for a memorial mass for the late King Humbert. A bodyguard was seriously wounded. the king and queen remained calm. Police seized the attacker, named Antonio Dalba, 21, a self described individual anarchist. Crowds cheered the king’s escape as the procession continued to the royal palace.
