Wind Takes Life In Clinton Tornado Toll Up To Seven
A June 29 tornado struck Clinton Minnesota at 5 35 pm killing seven people and injuring twenty five. Fifteen freight cars and a passenger coach were blown off a Milwaukee mixed train entering the station. Two churches and a printing office were destroyed along with about twenty houses. Names of the dead include Morton Higgins Thomas Rockwell Miss Kate Mills and Mrs Olds Nicholson and a daughter A Vandemark. One missing, Mrs T M Johnson, reported near the town which has about four hundred residents. The storm originated three miles north of Clinton and caused widespread damage before the line was disrupted.
