Desperate Encounter Ends With Suspect Shot by Officers
In Marion Indiana a tense chase led to Marion officers cornering Lon Henderson a wanted criminal from Indianapolis. After a fierce exchange of bullets Henderson refused to surrender and was fatally wounded by gunfire during the pursuit. Officer Hyland was wounded and merchant Wolkerman Bell suffered a forehead injury while assisting. Four days later Henderson and Frank Hedges were halted by Patrolman Albert Roth. Hedges was captured while Henderson escaped.

Murphys Revenge Ends in Camp Killings Near Casper
Fifty miles west of Casper in Wyo a Sunday night assault at a sheep camp left Fred Kassaban dead and Dan Ferris fatally wounded.
