Boston brokers were alerted that 22 stock certificates totaling 1 908 shares were stolen en route from New York to Boston. The paper is negotiable with unknown certificate numbers and includes 22 railroad and United States Steel Corp. certificates valued at about 120 000 dollars. The owner is Henry W Comstock of Boston and the theft occurred on the steamer Puritan when taken from under a pillow in his stateroom. He was told in New York that recovery would require a cash payment.
