A strong tremor struck Kingston on July 22 at 1 10 am causing panic among residents who fled in night attire and crowds gathered in the streets. Parts of buildings were torn down for safety as fear of a tidal wave spread amid an earlier quake. A thunderstorm and squally seas followed with the bay reportedly receding.
