Three masked robbers halted the eastbound Northern Pacific North Coast Limited near Buffalo North Dakota at midnight. They plundered about $500 from passengers and wounded Engineer S P Olson of Fargo who refused to stop the train. The bandits escaped in a waiting automobile after the attack.

Flagman saves scores of lives in canyon wreck near Debeque
Grand Junction Colorado July 20 a freight train defied custom and moved ahead of the Transcontinental express a bridge ahead of its path and narrowly avoided disaster. The eight train waited for the express but departed as ordered by the dispatcher and broke through the bridge. The flagman ran back and signaled the passenger train preventing a collision, with no injuries reported.
