Chairman Burnett said the committee was not ready to proceed and members wanted to hear from Secretary Bryan before action. The Japanese premier's address to parliament at Tokio and a State Department communication were discussed. The hearing was postponed to Jan 24. Bryan said he was hopeful of a satisfactory solution.
