Kinmundy Illinois January 22 twelve passengers and five crew were aboard two southbound trains when No 3 Panama Limited rear collided with No 25 New Orleans Express at Kinmundy. Harahan Melcher and Pierce died in the private car. Wright also killed. four survived uninjured. Relief trains, investigation ordered, and water scarcity blamed.
