Milwaukee January 5 The Warer Brewers Shipping association a major U S trades group has closed its Milwaukee office and released its secretary Luther L Caufy It marks a significant trade event and signals the end of centralized combining in the industry The association included brewers from Milwaukee Kansas City St Louis Omaha Cincinnati Minneapolis and formerly Rochester N Y aimed at protecting members and ending abuses in competition
Whittier Cal Jan 5 The will of Washington Hadley, at his death the oldest bank president in the United States, has been filed for probate. The estate is appraised at 125000. It was Hadley s boast that he had been 60 years a banker and no man had ever suffered from dealing with him.
Clarinda, Iowa, Jan 5. Hundreds cheered as the Iowa and Southwestern railroad completed its 20 mile line into Clarinda and ran a train across the city limits in time to win a $37,000 bonus with two hours to spare. The road connects with the Wabash at Blanchard on the Missouri One, cost $350,000 and has 400 local stockholders.

Two men robbed an Oregon Express mail car on the Southern Pacific between Red Bluff and Redding. They bound three mail clerks and, posing as clerks, looted every sack of registered mail. Local agent Westlake suspected regular employes and was nearly disabled by a sack buried over the clerks.
Antonio Rojas and his followers surrendered near Moris after a revolt while stationed at Dolores wine. Rojas is being escorted to Chihuahua and reportedly will urge Governor Gonzales to disclose the revolt’s causes.

Henry E Agar once a Gibson county grain dealer and elevator operator across 20 Ohio River towns was freed from prison and headed to Texas. He vanished from a Wabash river boat in 1907 believed drowned, his wife collecting $20000 life policy. He resurfaced in San Benito Texas two years later using a different name and was arrested, returned, and convicted of embezzlement.
Topeka Kan Jan 5 The supreme lodge of the Ancient Order of United Workmen received 80 000 from the Kansas grand lodge ending a suit started in 1902 alleging a 173 000 debt. An agreement to settle for 80 000 was reached.

Yesterday in Congress the Senate in session at 2 p m saw Senator Hitch cock denounce the arbitration treaties with Great Britain and France. Senator Rayner filed a minority report favoring ratification of the treaties un amended. Newlands of Nevada spoke on representative government and legislative program. The House met at noon and passed a bill requiring circuit judges to sit on circuit courts of appeal, then adjourned at 1 1 p m until noon today.
District Attorney Wilkerson introduced incorporation papers showing National Packing company formed March 18, 1903 with a 15 million capital to run 13 affiliates. Minutes of the first meeting in Jersey City were read to the jury as part of the packers trial. Arthur Colby, director and aide to the company, testified on the accounting methods used.
Seville Spain January 5 a school building collapse killed and injured many children and teachers. Death toll has not been confirmed though the head master three women teachers and three children were recovered from the ruins as rescue efforts continue.
Oregon City report states rancher Robert Norris vanished weeks ago. A horse, tied with the two cows in stalls, killed Norris with a single hind kick and then starved alongside its victims before dying. In New York, Have Meyer refineries cease operations, leaving five thousand workers unemployed due to overproduction.
Washington Jan 5 President Taft and Admiral Dewey led a full official attendance at Rear Admiral Robley D Evans funeral with full military honors. Emperor William of Germany sent wreath via Commander Retzmann. Taft pastor officiated at All Souls Unitarian as the famous Paul Revere bell tolled. The procession to Arlington followed a solemn service.
John E. Baker shot his wife Gladys Baker a chorus girl at the Richmond hotel 400 North Clark and then killed himself. Gladys died after hospital transfer. Baker, formerly manager of Revere hotel pool rooms, had watched her stage appearances and threatened to kill her for flirtation. Police seek relatives. Baker used the name John Yeslin and faced larceny and confidence game charges.
James V. Marlin an American aviator informs the Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom that he plans to fly across the Atlantic next August under its auspices. Marlin, Harvard aviation fellow, built a heavy hydro biplane for three, with wireless gear. The route would span from Newfoundland to Ireland.

Winnipeg Manitoba Jan 5 J B Snead a wealthy canal contractor of Fort Worth Texas and Mrs Snead who allegedly eloped with Albert Se Boyce from Texas to Canada left for Minneapolis. Boyce and Mrs Snead are being held as undesirable citizens in Canada and Boyce will be deported later.
