Fire swept the armory of the 1st regiment at Park Avenue and Thirty-fourth Street, then spread to the Park Avenue hotel causing 75000?0 in damage and at least 15 deaths. Injuries exceed twenty five. Names include Norman Acton and Charles L. Burdett among others. Robbins a Selma lawyer and former congressman is among the dead. Firemen rescued several occupants as flames raged from the roof and Lexitor shaft area.
