York, Feb 16 Tom Sharkey the famous boxer received a 30 day jail term and a $500 fine for disreputable resort. The court also fined him in a recent conviction while awaiting sentence at the Tombs.

Chicago Illinois Feb 16 Roger C Sullivan candidate for the democratic nomination for United States senator replies to Willam J Bryan in the Commoner attack. Sullivan denies Bryan interference in Illinois politics and recalls his aid in the 1908 campaign. He says his candidacy will go to a state wide direct primary and then to all voters. Sullivan’s tone contrasts with 1906 and his allies see White House disapproval of outsider involvement. Comiskey remains indisposed with updates of improved condition.
James Cooper Arthur Davis William Groff and Edward Polkinhorne were found guilty of manslaughter in the Seeberville copper mine killing of Steve Patrick. Judge Flannigan sentenced them to Marquette prison with recommended max terms of 15 years for three and 12 for Polkinhorne, citing lack of murderous intent and a clemency recommendation.
In Washington today national exercises observed the 16th anniversary of the Maine disaster in Havana harbor. At Ashtabula Ohio a Marquette and Bessemer car ferry with thirty two men aboard is ice bound two miles offshore. If not freed soon the vessel will run out of food and coal threatening the crew with exposure and hardship after being trapped since Saturday.
